How a Player Wins at Blackjack

The game of Blackjack is confined with specific rules. You cannot possibly play the game well if you do not know the rules that run it in the first place. Learning the rules of Blackjack is the first step towards a win. If you want to be a serious player, therefore, you must understand the ins and outs of the game through the established rules.

The main objective of a Blackjack player is to get a hand that is closest but never over the value of 21 through the cards dealt to him by the dealer. In some ways, players could say that it is basically by chance that you win over this game. But no, because of certain rules, Blackjack requires certain skills as well.

Your good eyesight and your ability to make good decisions are your best arms against losing your bets. You must know your Math well so you can count through the value of your cards before your turn is over. The cards used in Blackjack are given specific values. Your knowledge on this also pays greatly in the end.

Once you are dealt with two face up cards, you will be given time to decide whether to hit and accept an extra card or stand and refuse anymore cards. After making that life-changing decision, the dealer will reveal his other card (the one that is face down), which will spell if you win or lose the game.

You can win in Blackjack under three specific circumstances:

* You hit a hand of 21 or anything that is closest to it but is better than every one else, especially the dealer. Going overboard and exceeding 21 will make you bust which means you lose your bets forever.

* The dealer busts with a value of dealt cards going over 21. In this case, you get a specific payout no matter what the value of your cards may be.

* You and the dealer both gets a Blackjack or a natural 21, in which case the game is called a tie. A tie is better than a loss so it is still considered a win.

Your objective to win at Blackjack, therefore, is to create a hand closest to 21 as much as possible. The fate of your wager is not in anybody else's hand but the dealer's. The dealer's hand would be your basis for either winning or losing your bets. If you feel that your first two cards are insufficient to topple off the dealer's hand, you may hit or take an extra card. There is a risk in doing this move, however. If you choose to hit, you naturally risk going bust.
