Basic Blackjack Tips

Blackjack tips, once rare and passed down by word of mouth, are now everywhere on the internet. A few quick keystrokes at the search engine of your choice and you can find a whole host of them, ready for use and to help you make the most at the casino tables. Here are a few choice blackjack tips that you can use the next time you're at the tables.

First and foremost, you should find a table that you can easily afford. Tables that have a minimum bet one fiftieth of your bankroll or the amount you're playing with area good calls. Also be aware of what the odds are and what particular variant is active at that time. If you don't understand the odds, don't play at the table. There are plenty of tables and casinos out there - you don't need to get all hung up on one. Look around and you'll find the table for you.

Another good blackjack tip is to simply start with the basics. Dealers at most tables are required to hit on a 16 - this essentially tells you that your hand must be at least seventeen to win, unless of course, the dealer busts. Hit on any below seventeen when the dealer has revealed cards equal to ten, nine or eight, cards that will probably assure that the dealer won't go bust. Hands over eleven are fine when the dealer shows four, five or six, as the dealer will probably go bust over forty percent of the time.

Most blackjack tips will tell you to double down and they would be right to tell you to do so. This means that you double your current bet and get another card, a vital move if you happen to believe that you'll profit from doing so. For the player, this represents one of the more advanced moves that they can perform to make sure that they maximize their profits. Often, players decide to double down when they have a ten against a nine or lower. There are other considerations that will come with time.

Another blackjack tip and a move that you can use is to split your cards, essentially doubling your bet as well and playing with two hands at one time. Splitting fives or tens is commonly referred to as a bad move. Splitting sevens or eights when the dealer has an equal or lesser card, more often than not, is a good move.

These are only a few blackjack tips that you can use to improve your game. Practice them first, then bring them to the tables and you'll probably end up having a better game than before.
